Wrongful Death - Failure to Diagnose Myocardial Infarction
Our client, a 54-year-old man, who had a history of diabetes and hypertension, was seen by his internist for what was diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection. The patient was later seen and an ECG revealed a myocardial infarction, and the patient was admitted to the hospital and thereafter died from complications and congestive heart failure. Wrongful Death - Failure to Diagnose Neurological Condition - Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM)
Our client was a 10-year-old child who had been admitted to the hospital with neurological symptoms on her left side as well as vomiting and flu-like symptoms. The child was discharged with diagnosis of a viral infection. Her conditions worsened over the next two days, and the child was re-admitted to the hospital where an MRI revealed what was later diagnosed as acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM). Wrongful Death - Failure to Diagnose Myocardial Infarction
Our client, a 68-year-old woman, was admitted into the hospital with shortness of breath upon exertion. The patient was discharged with a thoracic strain. Over the next several days, the patient's condition worsened and she was re-admitted five days later with severe chest pains and severe shortness of breath. The patient died from a myocardial infarction. Settlement confidential.
